The LSCM R&D Centre developed RFID-based Interoperable Gateway for Logistics Service Platforms (RIG) in 2008. The technology allows business partners in different geographical regions to retrieve the information of cross-border livestock between Guangdong and Hong Kong via cross information exchange platform. Such technology would enhance the operational efficiency of food safety and also provide a practical solution to solve supply chain management problems.
