Spoof Resistance Evaluation Toolkit for Remote Authentication Applications

Overview

Enterprises and economic entities, especially financial institutions and banks, are undergoing an intense digitization process to save customers’ time and banks’ operation costs. With the growing establishment of virtual banks and other new Fintech services, the need for verifying the identify of customers is getting more important. Many organizations try to build or use remote authentication or eKYC (electronic Know-Your-Customer) services to help to speed up the process. However, while deploying these solutions, it would be hard for the users to know the performance of their solutions as an effective review can involve collection of large amount of datasets and requires additional tools to perform the task. To uncover the performance of these services, we propose a set of software toolkits which consists of multiple dataset and tools which can help to evaluate the effectiveness of those solutions. Our research and development undertakings involves: (1) the construction of bio-metric/facial capturer; (2) program to extract and capture of identification document's antispoofing data with different viewing angles; (3) program to generate spoofed bio-metric/facial features, which able to match with spoofed document data; (4) aggregate different bio-metric data sources and construct a database which contains different bio-metric datasets which action tags embedded to them; and (5) a proof of concept spoof detection program which can be used in continuous authentication applications.
