The Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit (GIES) 2018
LSCM participated in the Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit (GIES) held on 22 to 25 November 2018, which was organised by the Government of the HKSAR and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service. GIES is a platform for drawing together stakeholders to engage in dialogues and collaboration in driving policy changes, as well as societal and economic developments in Hong Kong to embrace the opportunities brought about by ageing population.
At the expo, LSCM showcased its latest technologies and demonstrated how to deploy these technologies in elderly services. Thousands of visitors were attracted to the LSCM booth and enjoyed the trial of the new technologies such as Smart-service Robot, Elderly Lifter, UWB Monitoring System and “Follow Me” Wheelchair Robot.
The “Follow-Me” Wheelchair Robot drew the attention of Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Nicholas W Yang, Secretary for Innovation and Technology and Mr Bernard Chan, Chairperson of HKCSS. Mrs Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, Chief Executive, also visited LSCM booth to learn more about how these technologies can help enhance the quality of life of the elderly.

Asian Logistics & Maritime Conference 2018
LSCM joined the ALMC 2018 as organised by the Trade Development Council on 20-21 November 2018. This year’s ALMC focused on three key areas – Asian connectivity, new retail revolution and its implications to logistics, as well as logistics technology. Over 2,000 logistics professionals from all over the world attended this two-day event. LSCM showcased the Heavy Duty Autonomous Guided Vehicle (AGV), Warehouse Smart Lifter and “Follow Me” Robot at the event. Numerous visitors were attracted to the LSCM booth, many of whom were impressed by the technology demonstration.

InnoCarnival 2018
Organised by the Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC), the nine-day InnoCarnival 2018 was held at the Hong Kong Science Park from 3-11 November 2018. LSCM specially designed two interactive games, the EEG Remote Control Robot and Creative Selfie Robot, for the public to experience the fun and convenience brought by innovation and technology.
Mr Paul Chan Mo-po, Financial Secretary, as well as other distinguished guests visited LSCM booth to experience the two fun-filled games. LSCM booth was very popular throughout the nine days among visitors. There were also wide media coverages about LSCM at the Carnival. For instance, the hosts of a TVB Programme visited LSCM booth and interviewed Mr. Simon Wong, Chief Executive Officer of LSCM, about the showcased technology.

LSCM Logistics Summit 2018
Themed as “Actions in the Belt and Road Initiative with Innovation and Technology”, the Summit will focus on how innovative technologies create positive change on the industry and capture the opportunities brought by the Guangdong - Hong Kong - Macao Bay Area development and the Belt and Road Initiative.
The Summit will be officiated by Mr Nicholas YANG, GBS, JP, Secretary for Innovation and Technology, and feature a series of keynote presentations delivered by government officials, iconic industry leaders and professionals on how Hong Kong can make use of its strategic advantage and technological strengths to grasp the opportunities arising from the Belt and Road Initiative.
The Summit will bring together government officials, industry practitioners and representatives from related fields to explore and share inspiring insights in the related topics, form collaboration opportunity and build business network.
In order to enhance business competitiveness and productivity, a series of latest technologies developed by LSCM and trade partners including Heavy Duty Autonomous Guided Vehicles, Ultra-Wideband Technology, Follow me & Platooning Technology, Virtual Reality (VR) Training System, HK-Zhuhai Trade Facilitation Platform and e-Arbitration / Mediation Cloud Services Platform will be showcased at the Summit.

Delegation visit to LSCM by Legislative Councillors
A group of Legislative Councillors including Hon Charles Peter Mok, , Hon James To Kun-sun, Hon Alvin Yeung and Hon Gary FAN Kwok-wai, visited LSCM on 28 September 2018. Mr Simon Wong, Chief Executive Officer of LSCM, gave a brief introduction of our Centre and our latest technologies at the visit. We have also demonstrated the logistics and community technologies to the guests.

Secretary for Labour and Welfare Bureau visits LSCM
Dr. Law Chi Kwong, GBS, JP, Secretary for Labour and Welfare, visited LSCM with his team on 27 August 2018. Mr. Simon Wong, CEO of LSCM, welcomed Dr. Law and his team on behalf of LSCM. During the visit, he introduced and showcased to Dr. Law the latest technology developed by LSCM such as the RFID Blind Cane Navigation System, the Safety Belt Alarm System for Construction Safety and the Baby Tag and the Baby Tracking Management Control System etc.
