Asia-Pacific Food Safety International Conference (APFSIC)

PolyU’s Food Safety Consortium (FSC), as the Hong Kong affiliate of International Association for Food Protection (IAFP), will organize The 5th Asia-Pacific Food Safety International Conference in Hong Kong with the support of IAFP members and affiliates across the globe. As IAFP’s regional conference series, the conference will serve as a platform to discuss the latest trends and issues in food safety across the Asia Pacific region, bringing together food safety professionals from all sectors including government, industry and academia to address relevant scientific and technical issues impacting the safety of the food supply chain.

Focuses of the conference include innovation in food safety, capacity building for APAC, public health considerations, IT applications on food safety, harmonization of food safety policies and standards, fostering food safety culture, risk management, best practices in food safety management, and many others.

Founded in 1911 and based in the United States, IAFP is representing more than 4,000 professionals from educators, government officials, microbiologists, food industry executives and quality control professionals from 50 nations who are involved in all aspects of growing, storing, transporting, processing and preparing all types of foods.  PolyU’s Food Safety Consortium (FSC) which endeavours to bring about the most cutting-edge food safety and food technologies to benefit the global community, has been recognized as the Hong Kong affiliate of IAFP since mid-2015, to synergize their efforts in advancing food safety in various regions of the world.
